7 Helpful Tips and Tricks You Need To Know for Your New Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2

Posted on 22:12 by Unknown
Merry Christmas, I am sure that many people have got a Samsung galaxy android phone this holiday, may be the amazing Samsung galaxy s3 or the Galaxy note 2. For these new starters, you may get a litter confused as Google's Android operating system allow a deeper level of customization, So here I have discovered a few quick tips and tricks to get you started and help you have a better experience on the special feature that only Samsung Galaxy Series smartphone offered.
1. Prolonging Battery life
We can do nothing if your phone is run out of battery, and most of smartphones fail in giving a long battery life, so I put the tips about how to extend the battery life in the first place. There are several tips that you can do to extend the battery life of your Phone.

For me, the Easy Battery Saver app is the best app that can help you prolong the battery life of your smartphone as it manages everything from the active applications, to the background, to the web browser. Make sure download one Power Saving app on your phone.

Make sure that you have turned Bluetooth and Wi-Fi off while you are not using your phone. For Galaxy note2, turn off the S-Pen detection to save some precious minutes in your battery life.

For more detailed information, you can view this article:  Galaxy S3 Battery Life: 11 Tips And Tricks To Get The Most Power Out Of Your Android Smartphone

2. Video multi-tasking
Both of the Galaxy S3 and Note 2 allow you to watch a video while multitasking on the phone at the same time, called Pop Up Play. However, both of the phones does not support all file formats, so just download a media player like MX Player to help you.

Turn on Pop Up Video Pop Up Video
  • Touch Apps > Video Player, Select a local video file to begin playback.
  • Touch Pop up video. If the control menu is hidden, simply touch the video to unhide the menu.
3. S Beam
Samsung Galaxy S Beam
With this function, you can quickly transfer content to other NFC Android devices with a tap. To turn this on, go into Settings, more Settings and then tap S Beam.
Sharing Content with S Beam
  • Open the content you want to share. You can share your favorite pictures, videos, contacts, web page links, even links to an application on Google Play™ Store.
  • Touch the devices together, back to back.
  • On the device you are sending the content from, the screen will show Touch to beam. Touch the content on the screen to begin the beaming process. When prompted, separate the two devices and the content will begin to transfer.
4. S Voice
Both of the super phones have S Voice built in, an intelligent voice recognition service that can act as your personal assistant. Everything will be easier with its help, like check the weather, compose an e-mail, and even launch other apps or more. Like if you shout "shoot" at your phone and it'll take the photo. View this guide to get started: Use your voice to take pictures with the Samsung Galaxy S III

5. Direct Call
The Direct Call feature will automatically call a contact if their log, contact, or message details are on the screen and you move the handset to your ear. Direct Call can be switched on and off in the Motion section of the settings menu.

6. Smart stay
Personally, this is my favorite special feature. Smart stay uses its front-facing camera to see if your eyes are still looking at the screen. If it finds them, it’ll keep the screen t active, rather than let it sleep. You can activate the feature from within the Display submenu of the full Settings menu.

7. S Pen (stylus)
Once mentioned about Galaxy Note 2, we could think of the S Pen. With the Special S Pen, drawing and writing become easier, and that is why many people fall in love with it. Also, with the S Pen, you don’t even need to touch the screen for it to show off, called Air View. Excellent. The S Pen makes it simple to take a screenshot of your smartphone's full screen by holding the side button in and holding the pen to the screen until the edge of the screen flashes white, signaling a screenshot has been taken.

Posted on 22:07 by Unknown
It won’t be that long before Christmas is upon us, and it is the best time of a year to show your love to family and friends. While many hoping to find a new high-end smartphone in their Christmas stocking, others like considering a tablet as a gift for their loved one this Christmas, so have you chosen the proper Christmas gift? If you are the one who have been in trouble to find a proper gift for yourself or send friends, I am sure the information below will offer some help to you. Just check the top 5 Christmas gifts for Christmas 2012 this holiday season.

Christmas gift

Smartphone: Samsung galaxy S3
Once mentioned about which smartphone to buy during the Christmas, most people will think of iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Nokia Lumia, HTC windows phone. So which one is the best that worth buying? I would say: Samsung galaxy s3, the best-selling phone during the third quarter of 2012.

The Galaxy S3 have a spec of quad-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Processor, 8-megapixel camera, 4G LTE or HSPA+ support, and also Samsung’s unique PIP function (Pop Up Play) that let you watch the video, while checking the mail or doing other things. That is all the reason that I put it in the first place.

Tablets: iPad Mini
Poll from Thomson Reuters finds that 42% of prospective tablet buyers were interested in an iPad mini, and personally I like the iPad mini very much, so for tablets, I take the iPad Mini as the winner.

ipad mini christmas

With a new 7.9-inch screen, the iPad Mini is lighter, slimmer and of course easier for people to carry. So you will find it is more convenient than before when you try to use the tablets like play games, watch videos, and so on.

Game App: 100 Christmas Gifts
It's the perfect holiday game for the whole family during the Christmas holiday.
It is one game that let you help Santa solve the puzzles and advance to the next room of the house. Funny Puzzles and amazing artwork are full of the app.
It is one of my favorite games during the holiday season.

100 Christmas Gifts

If you find it is some difficulty to solve the puzzle and unlock the current door to get the next level, I have found 100 Christmas Gifts Walkthrough and Guide for you. But I don’t think it is a good idea for you to watch this when you are the first time play this game. Just try your best to solve the puzzle.

Media app:  Christmas deal
Movies play a very important role in our daily life, especially during the Christmas holiday as they bring endless fun while together with our family and friends. We would like to watch high-definition quality movies, YouTube videos and DVD with our portable device, and sometimes we need some media app to help us allows for playback of the movie on devices such as smartphone or tablets, DVD players. And here I have find 50% off Media App discount for Christmas Promotional. It will be wonderful no matter for family use or send as a gift to friends.

Wallpaper app: 3-D Christmas Live Wallpaper
The free app offers you a sparkling tree-shaped graphic as your device’s background image. Among the many festive wallpaper apps in the app store, I like this app most: it gently animates as you switch screens, and from time to time it changes into a glittery countdown clock. Christmas tree scene, Happy New Year scene, Countdown scene, Snow scene, Lanterns scene, or any combinations are provided.

Christmas gift cards
All above gift list are tech gifts. So what about some traditional gifts? Of course a well designed Christmas gift card is somewhat the most popular Christmas gift for family and friend. Though this idea is quite traditional, it is really useful. With a little thought and effort, you can make the Christmas gift card more personal with DIY work. This would make the Christmas more meaningful.

How to watch NBA Christmas Games online, on Android device

Posted on 20:14 by Unknown
It’s the exciting time of year for all basketball fans again. As the regular season has kicked off for a while, NBA Christmas day is just around the corner, which is always the NBA’s biggest day of the regular season. LeBron James was named the Finals MVP as he won his first NBA championship in Miami Heat, after ran all over the Oklahoma City Thunder last NBA Finals, and this Christmas, the Thunder will take on the Heat at American Airlines Arena . There is no doubt that everyone is looking forward to this basketball game on Christmas Day.

For someone, they like catch live streaming NBA action on the Internet or TV, but with the popularity of mobile device like smartphone and tablets, some like watch on the go. So Here I have collected a list of apps as a guide for watching NBA on Android mobile devices.

NBA Game Time 2012-13

I am sure that many of you may know NBA Game time, a mobile application that gets revamped and re-released each year that allows us to keep up with all the latest scores, highlights and news from our favorite teams. So here I put this app in the first place.

Note: You should upgrade the free app via NBA League Pass Mobile in order to watch live regular-season games, NBA League Pass Mobile lets you watch live NBA action from your iPhone or Android device for $39.99. It essentially the same deal as NBA League Pass Broadband but for your phone. Be sure you understand the blackout rules before purchasing because you won’t get local teams or any games broadcast nationally on ESPN, TNT, ABC, etc.

The app is also fit for iPhone, iPad.

Some Official Websites for NBA Games:

1. NBA TNT Overtime
This website is provided by Cable network TNT; yet, this time you can watch NBA streaming without cable subscription, only broadband connection is required.
This online streaming NBA differs from TV as the games are broadcasted on an interactive 4-screen interface, with each of the 4 providing a different camera angle.

2. NBA.com
NBA.com is the official site of the National Basketball Association, which offers you news, features, multimedia, player profiles, chat transcripts, schedules and statistics, everything about NBA. It's updated official website for NBA Games of regular season, playoffs and the finals. And of course, you can watch NBA game live on this website.

3. YouTube NBA Channel
This could be another option for NBA games. If you are a YouTube lover, I think the website is your choice. You can also download your favorite NBA video to enjoy.

4. ESPN NBA
ESPN airs NBA games on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. And Most NBA games on the ESPN cable network air on Fridays at 8:00 p.m ET and 7:30 p.m PT as part of "Coast to Coast" doubleheaders. WatchESPN.com is free to viewers who log in with an active and paid-up cable TV subscription.

How to get rid of annoying mobile ads on your Android Phone

Posted on 20:02 by Unknown
Sometimes when you try to download android apps from Google play app store or play downloader games like Angle Bird, they sometimes push annoying ads to your smartphone, and you find it really boring that you want to remove all the annoying ads on your android device. But how to get rid of these annoying mobile ads on Android Phone?
annoying mobile ads on Android Phone
Being a long android lover, I have discovered a list of good tips and powerful apps for you here. If you have the same problem, Follow the Tutorials to have a try and you will find it really useful.

1. Download free app called AirPush Detector

AirPush Detector is the app that detects other installed applications to see which apps appear to use notification ad frameworks and users can easily uninstall them.

The app can't block ads, but at least it can tell you which apps are causing them. So you must uninstall the app to stop the ads.

Now for the trick
  • After you've detected and deleted the apps which push ads, head to the Google Play Store.
  • Once inside the Play Store, tap on Settings.
  • Inside Settings, uncheck "Google AdMob Ads”, this will make sure that you will no longer receive targeted ads from Google.
Apart from AirPush Detector, there are similar apps in Google Play Store like Adblock Plus or AppBrain Ad Detector.

2. If your phone is rooted, you can try AdFree and AdAway. Both of the apps are free.
AdFree removes most ads in the browser and other apps. It does this by nullifying requests to known host names in the system hosts file, and AdAway is a similar app like AdFree.
3. To some extent, in my eyes, the ads are there to support developer to keep Develop innovation product. If you really want to remove them, the easiest way is to use your phone offline whenever you are using the add supported app.

Here is another method I have find for you if you can’t wait the update anymore, the article which show you how to manually install Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update from website thedroidguy.com. Of course, this is just for people who are willing to take the risk because manual updating is not always safe for your device. Best E-Reader Under $100 for Christmas holidays

Posted on 20:30 by Unknown
While someone prefers to buy a smartphone or tablets as their holiday gift, someone intends to own an E-Reader as this year’s gift. And good news: they are much cheaper than smartphones and tablets, and have jumped way down in price due to the intense competition. Today, I will introduce best E-Readers Under $100 for Christmas holidays, which one will be the winner in the battle?

Top Contenders
Once mention about the Top E-Reader Contenders, basic model like Kindle, the Nook Simple Touch, and the Kobo Touch naturally come to our mind, which all share a few traits other than a reasonable price. They all feature 6-inch screens, 2 GB of storage, Wi-Fi for downloading books, and good readability. But a few differentiating factors may tip the balance.

Nook Simple Touch ($99)
The tech giant, CNET, said Nook Simple Touch is “Best E-ink Reader”.
As you may have guessed, the device has a touch screen. It is the biggest of all the device which features a 6.5 inch height screen, with physical buttons along the edges to turn the pages. And while you can get it for $99, an extra $20 upgrades you to the Glow Touch, which adds backlighting to the screen for night reading.

The Nook is responsive and zippy as you move between menus, it has lots of extra features, and the screen looks good (not as good as the Kindle, but very readable)

Kindle ($89)
The Kindle family offers a range of devices priced from $89 (or $69 if you don't mind the Special Offers display when you're not reading) to the $499, 8.9-inch, 4G Kindle Fire HD, which is called tablets rather than an E-Reader. But for the under-$100 e-reader market, Amazon really only offers one option, simply called "Kindle."

The Kindle is less than 6 ounces, even lighter than a paperback, so it fits nice in your hands and in your pocket. Another defining factor: it has a very high contrast screen; text stands out more clearly on the Kindle than on any other of the competitors.

One problem on the device is this Kindle model does not have a touch screen. That's not a big deal if you download all your books over one secure Wi-Fi network, but if you consistently need to enter passwords or search terms, toggling the cursor around to select letters instead of typing is a P-A-I-N.

Kobo Touch ($99)
“Kobe Touch is the most natural e-ink reader we've ever used”, Wired Magazine said. And Just as the name implies, unlike Kindle, the Kobo Touch has a touch screen. So everything will be easier when you turn pages and adjust font size with the responsive touch screen.
Kobo Touch comes with a store of 2.5 million books and includes more than a million free books, just like the Amazon and Barnes & Noble online stores. Kobo is also compatible with the open eBook formats like EPUB, so you can borrow a wide range of titles from your library.
Kobo Touch is thin and light, so it is convenience to carry just like the others.

Others
There are some other sub-$100 options. The Aluratek Libre offers more functions than others like mp3, and so does it has a smaller, darker screen, and it's painfully slow. But it's discounted to about $79 dollars and comes preloaded with 100 of the classics.

Final Verdict
Since touchscreen have been such a handy feature and personally, I have used to use the touchscreen, I have to rule out the low-end Kindle. Kobo is easy to use, but it's not the most polished or zippiest, compared to other E-Readers. So that makes the Nook Simple Touch my pick for Best E-reader for under $100.

Of course, If you have prepared to afford more than $100, I have collected other related information for you, and you can go to have a look:

How to Move Almost Any Android App to the SD Card (No Root Required)

Posted on 20:32 by Unknown
If you have been an android user for a time, you should know that Android apps install to the internal storage by default, But when internal phone memory gets full, you will at least face two problems such as can’t install app anymore and phone starts working slowly, so you need to clean up some storage space on your Android phone after install a lot of apps, like game apps, music apps, and video apps, etc.

So what should a user do when your mobile phone is running out of internal storage? Of course move apps to SD card or install Android Apps to the SD Card by Default are the best option if you don’t want to uninstall your favorite apps.

Install Android Apps to the SD Card by Default

This tweak requires Android 2.2 or later. To change the default install location, you’ll need to use the ADB, or Android Debug Bridge, utility included with Google’s Android SDK.

Step 1. Enable USB Debugging
First, you’ll need to enable USB debugging on your Android device. Open the Settings screen, tap Applications, and select Development.

Tap the USB Debugging checkbox to enable it. This will enable debug mode, allowing you to change the settings on your Android device from your computer. You may want to disable debug mode after completing this process.

Step 2. Install the Android SDK
You’ll need to download and install Google’s Android SDK on your computer. If you don’t already have Oracle’s Java JDK installed on your computer, you’ll have to download and install it before installing the Android SDK.

After you’ve installed both the JDK and Android SDK, launch the SDK Manager from your Start menu.

The ADB utility isn’t installed by default. It’s included in the Android SDK Platform-tools package – select this package and click the Install button to download and install it.

After the process completes, connect your Android device to your computer with its included USB cable. Windows should locate the device and install the appropriate drivers automatically. If it doesn’t, you may have to download and install the appropriate drivers from your Android device’s manufacturer. Do not mount the device after connecting it – just plug it in.

Step 3. Using ADB
Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to the android-sdk\platform-tools folder. On Windows, you’ll find this folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools by default. Check C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools if you’re using a 32-bit version of Windows.

Launch a Command Prompt window in this folder by pressing and holding the Shift button, right-clicking in the folder, and selecting Open command window here.

Run the adb devices command and you should see your connected Android device.

Run the following command to set the default install location to your SD card:
adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2

Note: If you want to revert this change later and install apps to the internal storage by default, run this command:

adb shell pm setInstallLocation 0

0 represents your device’s internal storage, and is the default. 2 represents the external storage, whether it’s an SD card or USB storage.

Use App 2 SD (move app to SD) to move app to SD Card

With this tool, you can export the app list to SD card, and the app will notify you when an app can be moved. Also With this handy app, you'll have more control over your ever expanding collection of apps. This app is crucial to anyone who has memory management issues

Moving Apps to SD Card
To move an app to the SD card, open the Settings screen, tap Applications, and select Manage Applications. Select the app you want to move and tap the Move button on its details screen.
